Privacy policy

Short version: I collect your name and email only if you hand them to me, I use them to send you email, I do not sell them, and you can leave whenever you want.

Who is behind this site

This site is operated by Ryan Doser LLC, based in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. For any privacy question, email ryan@ryandoser.com.

What I collect

Information you give me. When you sign up for the AI Marketing Guide or my newsletter, I collect your first name and email address. That is the only personal information this site asks you for. If you email me, I obviously have whatever you put in the email.

Information collected automatically. This site does not run advertising trackers, and it sets no cookies of its own. My hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, which is normal for any website.

Email and how it is handled

Email signups are processed and stored by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), my email provider. When you submit the form, your name and email go to Kit and are handled under their privacy policy as well as this one.

I use your email to send the guide you asked for, my newsletter, and occasional information about my own products and services. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. I do not sell, rent, or trade your email address to anyone.

Third parties

Embedded videos. Many posts embed YouTube videos. These use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, but once you press play, YouTube may set cookies and collect data under Google's privacy policy. That is outside my control.

Affiliate links. Some posts contain affiliate links, which may set a cookie identifying that you arrived from this site so the merchant can credit the referral. See myaffiliate disclosure for how that works.

Links out. When you follow a link to another site, you are on their turf and their privacy policy applies, not mine.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to show you what personal data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. If you are in the EU or UK, GDPR gives you those rights explicitly, including the right to withdraw consent and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. I do not sell personal information to anyone, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

To exercise any of this, email ryan@ryandoser.com. You do not need to give a reason, and the fastest route to deletion is usually the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email I have sent you.

How long data is kept

I keep subscriber information for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Kit retains a record that you opted out so you are not accidentally re-added later. Ask me to delete it fully and I will.

Children

This site is meant for professionals and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given me their information, email me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, I will update the date at the top of this page.
