Claude Fable 5 is Here: The Best AI Model Ever?
Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 are officially live, and they might be the most advanced AI models on the market right now. I skip most model-launch hype, but this one earns a real-world test. What Claude Fable 5 Actually Is
Most new-model videos drown you in benchmarks for an hour. I don't care about that. I care about one thing: can this model improve the work I already do? If you want my full Claude Code setup, my favorite skills, and the automations I run every week, grab my Claude Code Skills Stack. It comes with everything I use to run my content business. Fable 5 and Mythos 5 are not a small step up. This is not the jump from Claude Opus 4.7 to Opus 4.8. Anthropic shipped a brand new tier of models, and the early results back that up. Stripe reported Fable 5 compressed a 50-million-line code migration into a single day, work that took a team two months. You can read the full Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 announcement for the deeper benchmark numbers, or watch Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 announcement video for the walkthrough.
Claude Fable 5 Pricing and Who Gets Access
Here is the part most creators skip past. The two questions I always ask on a launch are who can access it and what it costs at scale. On the Claude Max plan at $100 a month, I have Fable 5 right now. It is included in plan limits until June 22nd. After that the message tells you to switch to usage credits to keep using it. My hunch is they move it to an API-only setup, but I am not an insider, so do not quote me. API pricing tells the real story. Claude Fable 5 runs $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. Claude Opus 4.8, the previous top model, sits at $5 input and $25 output. In plain terms, Fable 5 is twice as expensive and drains your usage twice as fast. You can confirm the current numbers on the official Claude API pricing page. It sits a tier above the research-only Mythos models too, and you can see where that line started in my breakdown of Claude Mythos. That raises an honest question for knowledge work. For copywriting, research, and the daily marketing tasks I run, is Claude Fable 5 overkill? My hunch is yes for most of it. A new model will not save you if your context and inputs are trash. Riley Brown still showed the upside, vibe coding a Lovable clone in two prompts with Fable 5. You can watch Riley Brown's Fable 5 demo to see how fast technical work moves now.Claude Fable 5 vs Opus 4.8: Landing Page Test
Talk is cheap, so I ran the models head to head. First test: redesign the landing page for my Claude Code Skill Stack, a digital product that has already pulled in six to seven thousand dollars from a page Opus 4.6 built. Same prompt for both. Push for more conversions, keep my branding intact, build it locally, and list the top three changes with reasoning. I turned off thinking mode and kept effort on low to keep the test fair. Both finished at about the same time, which surprised me.
Claude Fable 5 vs Opus 4.8: Full Website Test
The landing page was a warm-up. The real test was rebuilding my entire ryandoser.com site, a WordPress build on the Elementor theme that gets most of its traffic from blog posts repurposed from my videos. If you want the deeper case for why I run these tests in the first place, here is why marketers should use Claude Code. Same prompt again. Improve SEO, faster site speed, better design, and more conversions, using the Astro web framework. Build it locally and list the top three changes. This time Fable 5 took longer than Opus 4.8, which I expected for a bigger job.
