SEOmaxxing Boring Businesses for $5K/Month With AI

· Updated July 7, 2026 · AI Tutorials, Claude Code

SEOmaxxing is how I rank boring local businesses on Google with a $100 AI tool and turn it into recurring retainers worth thousands a month.

What SEOmaxxing Actually Is

What if the websites making real money online were the least exciting ones on the internet? Septic tank companies. Junk haulers. Dental IT providers. The boring stuff.
SEOmaxxing means pointing aggressive, AI-driven SEO at businesses that have ignored their online presence for years. I run the whole thing through Claude Code, a paid Claude plan, and a CMS like WordPress. That is the entire cost of admission. No agency. No dev team. No $5,000 web build. If you want the exact skills I use to do this, I put the whole system into my Claude Code Skills Stack. It includes the SEO blog post writer and the local website builder I show in the video, plus about 25 other marketing skills I actually use every week. The pitch to a business owner is simple. Your site has not been touched since 2002. You get leads from word of mouth. I can fix the first problem and grow the second.

Why Boring Businesses Win

Big niches like HVAC, plumbing, and roofing got eaten by private equity. They have millions in marketing budget. You will not beat them. So go where the money still sits unguarded. Septic, junk removal, funeral homes, dumpster rental, pet crematoriums. These owners run several million in revenue and barely think about Google. They have the budget and none of the competition.

My Claude Code SEO Workflow

You have probably seen AI SEO pitched as spamming 500 generic articles at a site and praying. That is not this. Every post I publish is built to rank and to read like a human wrote it. Here is the core loop. I take a long-form YouTube video, drop the URL into Claude Code, and call my SEO blog post writer skill. A skill is just a markdown file, a standard operating procedure that tells the AI exactly how I want the job done.

The single Claude Code prompt that calls the SEO Blog Post Writer skill, with a target keyword, title, and links to include.
I give it a target keyword, a few secondary keywords, and any links I want included. Then I let it run. One prompt, fully hands off. What comes back is a finished WordPress draft. Title, category, URL slug, meta description, featured image pulled from the video. It even embeds the video and writes the H2 and H3 hierarchy correctly. The detail people miss is the screenshots. An agent watches the video, finds key moments, grabs frames, compresses them so they do not bloat the media server, and places them where they actually fit the post. A quick tip that makes a real difference. When you tell Claude Code to triple-check something, it spins up agents in parallel to verify the work. I use that on every post. If you want the deeper version of this build, I broke it down in my guide on using Claude Code for SEO.

The Results Are Real

This is not vanity content sitting in a folder. My site had zero authority going in. Zero domain rating, zero credible backlinks. I started at the end of February. The posts started ranking. And the traffic turned into money two ways. First, a digital product. A floating widget appears within the first five to seven seconds of a visit, and that is where most sales happen. I have made over $5,000 passively from my Claude Code skill stack, and roughly 80% of that revenue traces back to this repurposed blog traffic. Second, client work. I run this same WordPress and Claude Code setup for Medix Dental IT, one of the top IT providers for dental offices and dental service organizations in the country.

Google Search Console for a real client, showing 204K impressions over three months as AI search visibility climbs.
Those impression spikes matter more than they look. When someone searches "best dental IT providers," Medix Dental now shows up as number one inside the Google AI Overview. That impression tells the searcher this company is the top pick. It reshapes how the market sees the brand, not just where the site ranks.

How I Sell This As a Service

Here is the part most people skip. You can save a client five hours a week and they shrug. You can make them more money and they pay you forever. That is the whole pitch. I am not selling time savings. I am selling inbound leads, which turn into revenue, which turns into a happy client writing a check every month. For my dental client, that check is a retainer in the thousands of dollars range. He just told me his team is fielding way more inbound leads since we started. Finding clients is the easy part. Walk into ten local businesses and talk to the owner, not the receptionist. Cold email and cold call work, but in person beats both right now because spam has poisoned the other two channels. Say this: your website has not been updated in a decade, you are leaving leads on the table, and here is the recurring solution I provide. Have that conversation ten times and you close at least one. Offer a low starter retainer or a performance basis to build your portfolio, and that first client becomes your case study.

Building a Site That Outranked Real Businesses

This is the demo that makes people sit up. I built a fake septic company site, Des Moines Septic, in three or four hours. It ranked on page one of Google for money keywords like "septic tank pumping near me," beating Better Business Bureau, HomeAdvisor, and actual licensed businesses.

A local service website built from scratch with Claude Code, Astro, and Cloudflare in a few hours.
I built it with Opus 4.7 and the Astro web framework, which is fast, SEO friendly, and passes Core Web Vitals on mobile and desktop. The whole thing is 100% AI. Service pages, location pages, a full SEO-ready blog, all generated from one deep Claude Code session. You can see the live result over at Des Moines Septic. The hosting stack is free. A GitHub repository stores the code. Cloudflare deploys it live with a generous free plan. The only real cost is your Claude Code subscription. For $20 a month you can technically do this, but Opus will burn through usage fast, so I run the $100 plan. On that single $100 subscription you can handle two or three clients without hiring a single VA. Want a deeper walkthrough of the no-WordPress version? I covered it in my post on how to build a website with Claude. To be honest about the limits: a fake business cannot get into the map pack or pass Google Business Profile verification. The website outranks real companies in organic results, but local pack visibility still needs a legitimate, verified business behind it.

Why This Compounds

Social media is rented attention. A tweet that pops off is invisible 72 hours later. SEO is an owned asset. A blog post you publish today can send leads for years. When I pitch clients, I am honest. You will not see ROI on day one, maybe not by day 30. But the work pays you back on day 90, in year one, and even after we stop working together. Business owners who think long term understand that instantly. You can also clone the playbook endlessly. I spun up Des Moines Junk Removal off the same skill with different branding, service, and service areas. The marginal cost of a new site is close to zero. That means you can build your own case studies in a weekend.

Ryan's Final Thoughts

SEOmaxxing works because it targets businesses with real revenue and almost no competition, then drives leads they could not get on their own. A $100 Claude Code subscription against a few thousand a month per client is absurd arbitrage. Anyone saying SEO is dead is not paying attention. The best AI SEO tools have never been more accessible, and the opportunity has never been bigger. Pick a boring niche, build one site, and go land your first client.

SEOmaxxing FAQs

What is SEOmaxxing?

SEOmaxxing is using AI tools like Claude Code to aggressively tune websites and content so they rank on Google and in AI search results. The goal is driving real inbound leads for local service businesses, then charging those businesses a recurring retainer for the service.

Do you need to know how to code to do SEOmaxxing?

No. I have over a decade in marketing and zero coding background. The whole system runs through Claude Code, which handles the technical work for you. A free GitHub account, free Cloudflare hosting, and a Claude subscription are all you need. If I can do it, anyone can.

How much does SEOmaxxing cost to start?

The bare minimum is a $20 Claude plan, free GitHub, and free Cloudflare. Because Opus uses heavy compute, I recommend the $100 monthly Claude plan. On that one subscription you can realistically service two or three clients at once.

How do you make money with SEOmaxxing?

Two ways. You can drive traffic to your own site and sell a digital product, like I do with my Claude Code Skills. Or you can sell SEO as a service to local businesses for a monthly retainer in the thousands. See How I Sell This As a Service above for the full pitch.

What businesses are best for SEOmaxxing?

Boring, low-competition local service businesses with real revenue. Septic companies, junk removal, dumpster rental, funeral homes, dental IT. Avoid HVAC, plumbing, and roofing, which private equity has already flooded with marketing budget. For more on this, see my guide on AI for small businesses.
